On 11 June 2020, Minister Dave Kelly announced a portion of the New Industries Fund (an additional $100,000) would go towards funding for education and mentoring programs to support start‑ups and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) impacted by COVID-19, which will be delivered by existing X-TEND WA program recipients.  Minister Kelly further announced on 14 August 2020 additional funding towards this initiative (up to $390,000), to support even more affected start-ups and SMEs.  


The COVID-19 Recovery initiative will utilise experienced Western Australian business professionals, to provide free practical workshops, webinars, one-on-one mentoring and professional advice.  Services include tips to enhance digital business capability and reach, to help COVID-19 affected innovative startups and SME's from across the state to recover and grow.  

Nearly $500,000 of New Industries Funding has been allocated to enable businesses to receive free tailored business support .

The programs will run for six months up until the end of January 2021.

Businesses from all diversity groups are encouraged to participate.
